APRIL HIGHLIGHTS
Public Health Hero
Mandi and Tori celebrate with party horns outside the courthouse.
PTMSC staff member, Mandi Johnson, was honored with the Jefferson County Public Health Hero Award for her leadership in launching the Community Tool Library. With the help of dedicated volunteers, she transformed a space at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds into a shared resource where community members can borrow tools, build skills, and support one another.
NEW PROGRAM: S.E.A.L. Backpacks
The Shoreline Education and Adventure Library (S.E.A.L.) is a new program at the PTMSC designed to resource you and your family with the tools needed for an inspiring and educational shoreline adventure. Adult and youth backpacks are available for borrowing during our open exhibit hours and are packed with useful tools and fun activities to take with you to the beach.

Oyster Rama
Sara and Alyssa help identify features on the puzzle map.
Hama Hama's Oyster Rama returned for the first time since 2019. PTMSC staff and volunteers showcased the Salish Sea Map Puzzle, which quickly became a crowd favorite. From curious kids to engaged adults—and especially a science teacher from Seattle—the booth sparked excitement and a sense of wonder about the Salish Sea watershed.
Earth Day Beach Cleanup
Thank you to everyone who joined the April 25 WCC Beach Clean-Up!
In partnership with WA CoastSavers, PTMSC had check-ins at Fort Worden, Chimacum, and Port Ludlow, and support from remote cleanup groups, we reached farther than ever before. Your efforts helped remove debris, protect marine life, and keep our beaches beautiful.
We appreciate every volunteer who made this day a success!
Thank you to our sponsors and supporting businesses, Olympic Disposal, The Keg & I, Pourhouse, Finnriver, & the Food Co-op.
